About Me
Dr. Madedor was born in London, England but raised primarily in Orlando, Florida. He attended undergrad at the Univ. of Central Florida and then moved on to the Univ of Louisiana at Monroe for his Master's. He graduated from St. George's School of Medicine for medical school. During his 3rd year, he discovered his passion for HIV and immunocompromised patient populations. My mentoring Infectious Disease physicians challenged us not to assist in ?lay-over? medicine. Which was defined as ?only concerning yourself with the patient's immediate issue and leaving everything else to be handled by someone later.? This ideology stuck with Dr. Madedor, and illuminated an interest in this field. Thus, leading him to Spectrum Health, partnered with Michigan State University for residency. Lastly, Georgetown University for an Infectious Disease Fellowship. Even away, Dr. Madedor felt his heart was in Michigan, so he returned to join the Univ. of Michigan-Sparrow ID team.
Primary interests include: HIV care, immunocompromised patients (HSCT/SOT) antibiotic stewardship, and academic medicine.
When not in the hospital, Dr. Madedor enjoys sports (Go LIONS!), writing fiction, playing on his alto saxophone or a good Netflix binge.
