Our laboratory team of highly skilled pathologists, clinical scientists, medical technologists and others provides the around-the-clock analysis essential to accurate diagnosis and treatment. We have outpatient labs conveniently located throughout Mid-Michigan for quick access to testing, including drive-thru COVID-19 collection and blood draw sites.
The laboratory houses a Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) laboratory that provides services to local and statewide agencies in case of a bioterrorism assault, a Molecular Diagnostic Center for Excellence laboratory and a full-service blood bank.
Laboratories is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and has achieved ISO 9001 certification, a global standard for quality.

Schedule your next Lab visit at UM Health-Sparrow
Online scheduling is available at all locations with the exception of the Drive Thru Lab Services at Frandor in Lansing. This drive-thru will continue to be offered on a first-come, first-served basis during business hours.
Simply login to your MySparrow account, click on Visits, then Schedule an Appointment, and select Lab Visit/Blood Draw.
Extreme Weather Notification
Due to the extreme weather, the Drive Thru Lab Services location at 3131 E. Michigan Ave., will be closed on Friday, Jan. 23, Saturday, Jan. 24, and Sunday, Jan. 25. To continue serving patients this weekend, UM Health-Sparrow Health Center, located at 2909 E. Grand River, will be open on Saturday, Jan. 24, and Sunday, Jan. 25 with operating hours from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
