Same Day Care - Convenient, Timely Care for Patients
UM Health–Sparrow Okemos Same Day Care now offers established patients ages 13 and older a convenient option for minor illnesses or injuries when their primary care provider is unavailable. Located within the Okemos Jolly Road Primary Care Office at 2446 Jolly Road, Suite B, the clinic provides timely access to care while helping reduce unnecessary urgent care or emergency department visits.
The clinic sees patients for a variety of conditions, including colds and flu, sore throat, ear or sinus infections, allergies, minor sprains or strains, rashes and minor burns, pink eye, mild asthma symptoms, nausea or diarrhea, urinary tract infections, post-hospital follow-ups, and non-controlled medication refills.

The Same Day Clinic is available to U of M Sparrow patients age 13 and older who are established with a Primary Care Provider.
The Same Day Clinic is best for minor illnesses and injuries when you can’t get in with your UMH-Sparrow Primary Care Provider. Visit for:
- Cold, flu, sore throat, or ear infection
- Sinus infection or allergies
- Minor sprains, strains, or joint pain
- Small cuts, minor burns, or rashes
- Eye irritation or pink eye
- Mild asthma symptoms
- Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
- Painful urination or UTI
- Post-hospitalization follow-up
- Medication refills (non-controlled substances)
- Onsite X-rays
- Point-of-care testing
- Dip urine testing
- Wound cultures and STI testing (sent to lab)
- Prescription refills (no controlled substances)
- No blood draws or lab work
- Prescription refills of controlled substances
- Anything listed in the Urgent Care or Emergency Care sections below
- Photo ID
- Insurance Card
- Medication list

Same Day Care is similar in cost to a walk-in clinic or urgent care. Please note that this may have a higher co-pay than a primary care visit. Check with your insurance company for your specific co-pay and coverage.
Choose Urgent Care for concerns that need prompt attention and are more serious than typical clinic visits, such as:
- Deep cuts that may require stitches
- Suspected broken bones
- High fever not improving
- Asthma or breathing issues (not severe)
- Minor allergic reactions
- Care needed during extended hours or weekends
Seek emergency care for serious or life-threatening symptoms, including:
