CARSON CITY, Mich. – University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Carson officially opened its new cardiac rehabilitation center, expanding access to vital recovery services for heart patients in the region.

The center represents U-M Health’s continued commitment to the Carson City community and to providing access to care for rural areas in Mid-Michigan.

The center provides a medically supervised program of exercise and education designed to help patients with heart disease achieve their optimal health. The services are a critical component of recovery, helping patients regain strength, prevent future hospitalizations and reduce their risk of future heart problems.

“Bringing these essential cardiac rehabilitation services directly to the Carson City community offers greater convenience and continuity of care for patients close to home,” said Tyelor Wymer, cardiology supervisor at UM Health-Sparrow Carson and UM Health-Sparrow Clinton.

The Carson City location joins a network of other University of Michigan Health-Sparrow cardiac rehab centers across Mid-Michigan, ensuring a standardized level of high-quality care for patients throughout the region.

Cardiac rehabilitation programs typically include personalized exercise plans, heart-healthy lifestyle education and emotional support to help individuals recover after heart attacks, heart surgery, or other cardiac diagnoses.

The new center is located at UM Health-Sparrow Carson, 406 Elm St., Carson City. To learn more about UM Health-Sparrow community efforts, go to UofMHealthSparrow.org/our-hospitals-services/um-health-sparrow-hospitals/carson
