As a commitment to Sparrow Carson Hospital and the mid-Michigan region, Sparrow has donated $30,000 to the Carson Foundation.

Sparrow President and CEO Dennis Swan presented the donation to the Carson Foundation on Wednesday.

When Sparrow Carson Hospital became a fully integrated subsidiary of Sparrow last year, the health system pledged to match up to $30,000 annually, for a maximum of five years, of money raised by the Carson Foundation.

Wednesday’s donation is the first installment of that pledge.

“This embodies Sparrow’s support of the Carson Foundation and our mission for the region we serve. There is a definite long-term commitment,” said Carson Foundation Board Chair Gary Copp. “The monetary match adds great value to the donations from our Caregivers and our community members.”

This donation allows the Carson Foundation to continue to fulfill grant requests to help improve the health of the people in the mid-Michigan region. Previous grants have funded an automated external defibrillator (AED) and training for a local school and a new ultrasound bed for the hospital’s Imaging Department.

Sparrow Carson Hospital joins Sparrow Clinton Hospital and Sparrow Ionia Hospital as local partners in our mission to provide the very best care, as close to home as possible.

Choose Wisely. Choose Sparrow.
