CHARLOTTE, MI – Sparrow Eaton Hospital is pleased to welcome two nurse practitioners to the Sparrow Medical Group Potterville office, adding to the quality patient care provided by Todd Otten, M.D.

Devon Kruger and Elizabeth McDowell are Michigan natives who are excited about being part of the community and providing care close to home for local residents. SMG Potterville is located at 133 Lansing Road, Potterville.

“Devon and Elizabeth are outstanding nurse practitioners who are eager to learn, excited to exercise their education and committed to improving the health and lives of their future patients,” Dr. Otten said. “I did not hesitate when the opportunity arose to hire them to work alongside me here, in serving the Mid-Michigan region.”

Kruger, a Saranac native, began practicing at SMG Potterville after completing her studies at Chamberlain College for Nursing, following her undergraduate from Michigan State University.

“The most exciting moment to date has been receiving a patient kudos for the care I provided them within my first three weeks,” Kruger said. “I’m genuinely excited to learn from Dr. Otten and grow as a nurse practitioner here.”

Kruger says her passion is providing care in the areas of diabetes and women’s health but she truly enjoys all facets of being a nurse practitioner, with a desire to provide excellent care for the entire family. When outside of the office, Kruger enjoys working on the family farm and showing her horses.

McDowell, an East Lansing native, began practicing at SMG Potterville upon completion of the FNP program at University of Michigan-Flint, following her undergraduate from Michigan State University.

“It would truly be an honor to have members of the community, and Mid-Michigan, entrust me with their care,” McDowell said. “My goal is to help improve and optimize the health of all of my patients so it’s truly a gift to work and learn from someone as incredibly generous with his knowledge as Dr. Otten.”

With a background in adult cardiac care and neonatal ICU, McDowell says her passion areas are heart health and pediatrics. On her off time, she admits she spoils her dogs silly and partakes in yoga, skiing and reading.
