Shaneca Embry, a Sparrow Granger Pediatric Department nurse, goes above and beyond to help Sparrow’s youngest patients feel better.
“Being able to help children and help them feel better, physically and emotionally, while they are here, it really feeds my soul,” says Shaneca.
Shaneca was recently honored with Sparrow’s first Spirit of Excellence Award for her dedication, hard work and exemplary service for patients.
“I am a very empathic person,” says Shaneca. “When anybody is in pain or discomfort, I try to feel their feelings and I want to help them feel better in the best way possible.”
Shaneca goes above and beyond to comfort patients, especially children. That’s one reason Shaneca is this month’s Caregiver Spotlight.
