Kira Carter-Robertson earns leadership honor

LANSING, Mich. – Kira Carter-Robertson, University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Lansing’s chief operating officer, has earned a prestigious statewide honor for outstanding leadership and for paving the way for future generations.

Carter-Robertson was named as a Leadership In Action Award honoree, part of Career Mastered National Women's History Leadership Awards Class of 2024. During an event in Detroit on Wednesday, she was honored alongside 37 other women across diverse industries and disciplines who have made a compelling mark in business.

“I am honored to be a part of the 2024 Class for the Career Mastered Women’s Leadership in Action Award and be among a group of amazing women leaders,” Carter-Robertson said. “While I am receiving this recognition, I know that the true recipients are my village: my family, my friends, my mentors and the many advisors that have supported and poured themselves into me over the years. This recognition is for them for guiding me to be OK with authentically being me and challenging me do something to make a difference.”

Career Mastered, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, is a global women's business collaborative that honors positive role models in leadership.

Carter-Robertson has been an instrumental leader at UM Health-Sparrow in a variety of positions. She currently provides operational oversight for UM Health-Sparrow Lansing, the Herbert-Herman Cancer Center, Mary Free Bed at Sparrow and several ambulatory care sites in Lansing, and ensures all patients have access to leading-edge care, close to home.

She has received numerous honors for her professional and community work, including the ACHE Senior Careerist Award and the ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award. Carter-Robertson is active in a variety of community boards, including Dart Bank, the Greater Lansing Foundation, and the Highfields Endowment Committee.
