Naomi Schafer, R.N., a medical oncology unit nurse at University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Lansing, goes above and beyond to provide compassionate care and unwavering support to patients battling cancer.
“I really want to meet people where they’re at,” Schafer said. “It’s important to be able to take the time to look someone in the eye, hold their hand and be there for someone when they need it.
Schafer not only makes a profound difference for her patients but has an innate ability to provide comfort and hope to their families. That is just one of the reasons why she is this month’s Sparrow Spotlight.
