Erica Swift, a medical receptionist at Charlotte 111 Primary Care at UM Health-Sparrow Eaton, noticed something was very wrong with a patient checking in for an appointment. She sprang into action, alerting staff and helping get him in a wheelchair for an exam. It turns out he was having a heart attack.
Erica’s quick action may have helped save the patient’s life. “I just like helping people, so I wanted to do health care because it’s always something different and ... you help someone every day in whatever way they need,” she said.
