Boy involved in MAC pool incident recovering and making progress

At approximately 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, a 5-year-old boy was rescued from the leisure pool at the Sparrow Michigan Athletic Club. He is currently recovering at Sparrow and making progress. MAC Lifeguards acted quickly after pulling the boy from the water and administered CPR and used an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).

An Emergency Department resident and Physician's Assistant were on hand and assisted in the rescue. Meridian Township EMS was called and transported the boy to Sparrow Hospital.

Our focus is on the family and the boy's recovery and we are working to ensure all of their needs are being met.
