Alternate Routes Amidst Michigan Avenue Construction

Published: August 7, 2025

LANSING, MI – The Michigan Avenue road construction project is creeping closer to the University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Lansing campus, and that will impact our team members, patients and visitors, especially those coming from the east (such as East Lansing, Okemos and the Williamston areas).

But, with a little planning and extra time, the project doesn’t have to affect patient care or access to UM Health-Sparrow services.

UM Health-Sparrow is providing alternate routes to our downtown locations, such as the hospital, Herbert-Herman Cancer Center and Sparrow Professional Building.

Starting in August, the road work will extend farther west on Michigan Avenue in front of the hospital. But access to UM Health-Sparrow buildings will be maintained throughout construction.
